Some animals prefer to consume water via the food and do not voluntarily drink enough when they are fed dry food. Furthermore, water is odorless and may not pique the interest of cats' and dogs' strong sense of smell.

It is therefore a worthwhile task to develop a range of vegan and water-based flavoured drinks to entice cats and dogs to increase their water intake or just to give them a treat and strengthen the bond between pets and their humans.
